Happy New Year Jean-Michel, 1988 - Dec 2012
Acrylic on Canvas - 24" X 24" X 3"
Using high quality acrylics, Happy New Year Jean-Michel, 1988 is an abstract portrait of Jean-Michel Basquiat. As the story goes, on New Year's Eve of 1988, he was alone at a bar only months before the drug overdose that sadly ended his life. This piece is my interpretation of how that scene felt for Jean-Michel and those around him that night.
Shipping can get to be quite expensive. Therefore, if you live in the Chicago area, please contact me so I can drop the painting off personally and remove the shipping cost, rather than shipping it.
If you are outside of the US, I'd be happy to discuss shipping arrangements, as they would require me to provide an estimate. Feel free to contact me with inquiries.
All paintings are signed and dated on the back of the artwork. I also work a couple strands of hair into the signature for future authentication purposes.
